Summary Manage and direct operational accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and analysis. Develop and implement tactical plans that align with corporate objectives. Career development and training of accounting support staff. Improving workflow efficiency/internal procedures and processes. Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility: Lead, direct, and support the daily operation of the core accounting functions. This includes general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, manufacturing cost accounting, account reconciliation, variance analysis, financial reporting, internal controls and processes. Manage, reconcile, analyze, and report on manufacturing costs and variances. Maintain chart of accounts, process journal entries, manage fixed assets, complete account reconciliations, and provide variance analysis. Manage and reconcile inventory ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of transaction posting. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures. Prepare monthly financial statements, supplementary reporting, and ad-hoc analysis as requested. Assist the Finance Director in planning, directing, and coordinating the implementation of initiatives, policies, and procedures of all operational accounting functions. Evaluate internal workflow processes to maximize efficiency, while prioritizing accuracy, data integrity, and ensuring work activities are completed in a timely manner. Ownership of data integrity and accuracy of financial information in enterprise resource planning software Periodic analysis of standard rates and manufacturing cost coverage Analyze financial impact of changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods Mentor and coach accounting staff by providing necessary training, resources, and guidance ensure workflow continuity and career growth. Assist the Finance Director in budgeting/forecasting activities as needed.
