Manage administration of all benefit plans, including plan eligibility, open enrollment, monthly billing for self-funded insurance plans, retirement plans (401a, 403b, VEBA), long-term disability (LTD), life insurance, quarterly unemployment reporting, prepare COBRA notices, enforce HIPAA, and workers' compensationMaintain knowledge of government regulations and a full understanding of the federal healthcare reform and the ability to implement required changes (ACA and 1095's).Serve as the authorized representative for all benefits, 401a plans, and VEBA for the school corporationTroubleshoot a wide variety of benefit issues for all staff and assist in resolving claim inquiriesAdminister the school corporation's workers' compensation self-funded plan, including the 1st report of injury, review payment of monthly claim invoices, collaborate with each employee on the workers' compensation treatment and laws associated with federal guidelinesProvide wage reports to the workers' compensation carrier for all lost time accidentsWork with the workers' compensation carrier, medical facility providing treatment and the adjuster assigned to the claim to assist with the best care for each injured employeeAdminister the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) for all staff that participate in the Indiana State Teachers' Retirement Fund (TRF) and Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF), process wage and contributions each payday for member and employee contributions, and enter all life event changes in the INPRS systemPrepare retirement packages for all staff; calculate final payout of benefit days and years of service and assist retirees with the pension and medical packages offeredTrack retiree insurance premium payments with benefit coupons as well as VEBA paymentsSalary and Benefits
Twelve month position, 8 hours per dayHourly rate: $32-$34 per hourOther benefits in accordance with the 12 month administrative assistant agreement
