Summary:Construction Project Manager will provide project-based direction to projects related to Rush University Medical Center entities. The Construction Project Manager ensures that every aspect of the project's goals is achieved in accordance with the contract requirements and exercise discretion/judgment in dealing with varied departments and contractor groups. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Other information:Required Job Qualifications:• Bachelor of Science degree in architecture/engineering/construction management or equivalent.• Four years' experience in healthcare construction/renovation.• Experience in coordinating owner and consultant activities.• Able to develop basic construction schedules.• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.• Ability to manage up to $15M in capital projects at a given time.
Responsibilities:• Manage $1M in capital projects• Responsible for managing new and remodeled healthcare projects from initial approval through construction closeout.• Set and monitor overall goals and objectives of the Project and document with Project Execution Plans.• Assist in consultant and contractor selection.• Develop and maintain Project Action Logs and assure all commitments are met.• Primary responsibility for managing documentation of all aspects of the project.• Conduct and document weekly project meetings with all team members.• Interface with management to update project reports with particular emphasis on schedule, budget, cost reports, change orders, and project projections.• Primary responsibility for complete understanding of plans, specifications, codes, regulations and assure that the Project and project team are in strict compliance.• Initiate and process contract requisitions and invoices.• Assume total responsibility for delivering projects on time and within budget, with expected results.
