WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Accountant leads the monthly accounting close for two or more of our brands. This position will ensure the reporting of accurate, complete, and timely financial results by partnering with departments and brands across the organization as well as our external auditors.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location preferred.
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME
Perform cash reconciliations for certain business unitsPrepare journal entries for monthly close related adjustments, prepaid expenses, inventory adjustments, accruals, etc.Complete analysis for inventory reserve, bad debt allowance and returns reserveReconcile balance sheet accounts to the general ledger and prepare supporting schedulesCompile monthly balance sheet and profit & loss analysisReview, evaluate and assist with the implementation and/or improvement of internal controlsSupport the external audit through the preparation, review, and delivery of requested documentationAssist in the documentation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and processesRespond to ad hoc data or reporting requests and support special projects as neededWHAT YOU'LL NEED
Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master’s and CPA preferredMinimum of 2+ years of relevant accounting experience; public accounting experience is preferredStrong working knowledge of GAAP and financial statementsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience with Great Plains and Management Reporter is preferredExcellent critical thinking and analytical skillsProcess improvement mindsetOrganized and self-directed with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailProven track record of increased job responsibilities and expanded rolesCommitment to the highest standards of honesty and integrityOutstanding interpersonal skills and an excellent written and verbal communicatorBENEFITS
