Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Thompson Software Solutions is seeking a principal-level Embedded Software Engineer who is ready to work with a talented team to provide innovative solutions for tomorrow's problems. The successful candidate will be a member of a high-performing multi-site team and must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, time-management, and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will work independently at times on projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other software engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.
Selected applicant will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and must maintain eligibility for continued access to classified information throughout their employment as required by the job.

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline10+ years of C/C++ software development experiencePrior experience writing embedded software (C, C++, and/or Ada)Experience with real-time operating system integrationPrior experience troubleshooting/debugging on target hardware in lab/mock-up environmentsProficient with Linux and Windows development environmentsAbility to professionally communicate project status and collaborate on technical solutions with clients and peersExperience with incorporating independently developed algorithms into embedded softwareFull lifecycle software development experienceActive Secret DoD security clearanceAbility to work onsite 100%Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd
Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps tools and CI/CD workflow (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)Proficient with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.)Proficient in Python developmentFamiliarity with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (Cameo, AADL)Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), ARINC 653 and flight software developmentExperience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)Experience communicating and documenting complex technical designsAbility to work in a collaborative and team-based environmentExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsBenefits
