Position Summary:

The Sr. HUD Compliance Manager is responsible for strategically leading corporate Affordable Housing Compliance Specialists and on-site operations of HUD and/or project based section 8 vouchers. This position will ensure that all HUD Guidelines are being followed and adhered in accordance with the HUD Handbook for the HUD Subsidized Apartment Homes.

Job Duties:

Responsible for training, onboarding, and development of all team members with focus on employee engagement and retention. Lead, coach and develop direct reports to create a culture of excellence and continuous learning.Strategically lead, time management, communication, organization, engage and lead teams from a distance, provide vision, inspiration, prioritization, delegation, accountability, 1:1s, embrace technology, find efficiencies,Collaborates and partners within the region, other division departments, and across Company divisions.Complete Annual and Interim RecertificationsMaintain an accurate and compliant Wait List in accordance with HUD Guidelines.Complete monthly HAP Billing.Ensure Compliance with the Tenant Selection Plan.Performs audits and community inspections to ensure policies, procedures, and corporate compliance are followed at all times.Prepare for and achieve a minimum rating on the Management and Occupancy Review of Satisfactory.Oversee all aspects of the file review process for calculation accuracy and verification compliance on all apartments.Implement file audit procedures throughout the subsidized portfolio to ensure compliance with HUD Guidelines.Interact with residents in a courteous and professional manner.Keep current on all updates and changes in affordable housing programs and requirements, and distribute clear and concise written interpretations of changes.Assess and make recommendations to the Sr Director and Community Manager regarding action plans for compliance concerns and management training needs.Coordinate and participate fully in the REAC Inspections.Purge resident files as outlined in the HUD Guidelines .Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

Bachelor's degree or related experience.Must have a minimum of 6 years experience with Project Based Section 8 Programs.COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist) or equivalent certification through NCHM, AHMA or other entity specializing in Project Based Section 8 Program training.Valid driver's license; valid vehicle insurance.This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company's MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.Prioritizes well, delegates appropriately, and holds associates and managers accountable for performance. Focuses on team engagement and inclusivity for all team members, including those at various locations.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Multilingual ability a plus.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $80,800.00 - $122,700.00

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
