Supervises activities of maintenance supervisors within a single service department on multiple shifts to ensure the effective, timely provisions of quality services. Maintenance activities can range from janitorial, caretaker, manual maintenance work, carpentry, painting and plumbing.
RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for leading the organization through expense, capital, headcount, and business planning activities aligning with site and corporate business plans.Responsible for meeting site objectives in core areas of customer service, technical support, improvement of systems, and key support for productivity projects utilizing both external and internal resources.Initiate and influence key decisions and take overall responsibility for time schedule, costs, quality and plant operability.Initiation, development and implementation of the strategy for current and future business.Initiate and foster a continuous improvement and optimization process.Work with other departments to improve regulatory compliance, reliability, and safety.Initiate and introduce standards, tools, procedures, safety, cGMP and compliance initiatives in assigned area.Monitor and report assigned cost center metrics on a regular basis.Be supportive of SMT and business line management decisions.Be an advocate and champion for change initiatives which can improve current procedures, methods, processes, etc. Identify, lead, investigate, and implement changes as necessary.Actively seek ways to improve the process, reduce costs, and make the working environment safer.Work with customer departments to facilitate efficient and cost effective management of their product and service needs.Manage all areas of an assigned process (quality, safety, environmental, equipment, materials, etc.) to ensure customer requirements are met.Employee development including succession planning, promotions, individual development, department development, training programs on/off the job.Ensure that Performance Management is utilized throughout the organization, and that individual plans link to business plans. Coach employees in the development and objectives that align with the business plan and capitalize on the employee's strengths.Help establish departmental goals and effectively communicates direction, objectives, and results as needed to the department, Tippe plant site, and Evonik.REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of previous plant experience is preferred.Direct, motivate and synchronize the operations team to overcome obstacles and find opportunities for continuous improvements.Interpersonal skills with emphasis on oral and written communication.Possess a broad knowledge of plant design, site service operation, production, project management, maintenance management, policies and standards.Demonstrated technical, analytical, and problem solving skills.Proven leadership skills with emphasis in coaching/mentoring for performance improvement.Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and listening skills.Demonstrated effective conflict resolution skills.Knowledge of cGMP operations.Must be computer literate and be proficient in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, and DeltaV (or other similar automation system).Ability to focus on continuous improvement and results oriented initiatives.Ability to leverage experience, training, and information to accomplish goals.Accurate and proficient analytical skills.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong mechanical aptitude.Ability to work in a heavily regulated environment.
