The ideal candidate will have a passion for financial management in the non-profit sector and experience in maintaining accurate financial records, budgeting, and reporting. This is a hybrid position that will require multiple days onsite in their office based in Laurel, MD. Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries, including revenue, expenses, grants, and donor contributions.Ensure proper documentation and coding for all transactions.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Provide insights into financial trends, budget variances, and cash flow to help guide organizational decision-making.Track restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and donor restrictions.Prepare financial reports for grants and assist in the preparation of grant proposals and renewals.Process and record invoices, expenses, and reimbursements.Ensure timely payments to vendors and proper reconciliation of accounts payable.Manage donor contributions, including posting donations and generating donor acknowledgment letters.Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts.Monitor and report on actual versus budgeted expenses, providing analysis and recommendations to senior finance staff.Assist with year-end audits, preparation of financial schedules, and coordination with external auditors.Ensure adherence to non-profit financial regulations, including proper documentation and internal controls.Support payroll processing, including ensuring proper coding of payroll expenses and compliance with applicable regulations.Work closely with HR to manage employee benefits and deductions.Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a monthly basis, ensuring all transactions are properly documented and accounted for.Work closely with program managers and department heads to provide financial support for budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making.Collaborate with other departments to enhance organizational efficiency.
