Job Summary

Under limited supervision, applies practical and theoretical knowledge of data management and data governance to ensure the organization's data is managed effectively, securely and in compliance with regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing and implementing data governance initiatives, policies and procedures across the enterprise.

ResponsibilitiesDesigns and implements a robust data governance framework that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.Defines policies, standards, and procedures related to data management, quality, security and privacy.Collaborates with data stewards across all business and functional areas to ensure data quality, accuracy and consistency.Establishes data quality metrics and monitoring. Addresses issues promptly and works toward continuous improvement.Maintains a comprehensive metadata repository that documents data definitions, lineage and usage. Monitors and tracks changes to data assets.Collaborates with information security teams and stays informed of regulatory requirements to classify data based on sensitivity and risk. Defines access controls, encryption standards, and data masking policies. Monitors compliance.Communicates the value of data governance to business leaders.Fosters a culture of data stewardship and accountability.May act as an advisor or mentor to junior professionals.Takes ownership and accountability for decision making.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Management or related field.5 years of experience include data quality, data lineage, data security, data compliance, and change management.Experience in manufacturing and/or automotive industries is preferred.In depth knowledge and application of data governance standards, principles, methodologies, best practices and industry trends.Strong understanding of data quality, data lineage, metadata, data security and data privacy management and compliance.Able to assess the as-is condition and gaps with future state targets to reflect in policy, technology and training enhancements.Strong communication skills (written and oral).Project management skills.Ability to mentor others and effectively work across teams.High level of attention to detail.Salary $115,000-$135,000.
