Data Scientist
Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Data Scientist. As a Data Scientist in our team, your primary role will be to leverage your using analytical, statistical, and programmable skills to make sense of large amounts of data and complex datasets. You will be expected to work with energy usage data, hydraulic data, and pricing data to identify cost optimization strategies for a Fortune 500 midstream oil and gas company.
Responsibilities:
Develop statistical models to identify cost saving opportunities.Use analytical tools to break down complex datasets to uncover patterns, insights, and trends.Work with SMEs and stakeholders to identify data modeling requirements and translate them into working datasets and models in data analysis tools.Collaborate with data engineering and software teams to integrate developed models into our system.Use visualization tools and spreadsheets to present data and insights to non-technical stakeholders.Conduct cost-benefit analysis and forecasting of various strategies and scenarios.Maintain clear communication with business stakeholders about findings and recommendations.Requirements:
BS/MS degree Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or another quantitative field.Proven experience as a Data Scientist.Strong statistical background.Proficient in Python and SQL, with a strong understanding of statistical models.Oil and gas industry experience especially in relation to hydraulics modeling (pump head, pump efficiency, pipeline head loss) would be a strong asset.Experience with data visualization tools such as Power-BI is a plus.
