This role will be located in Macedon, NY.
WHAT WE NEEDThe Data Scientist role combines data science capability with business acumen to manage the data infrastructure, understand and analyzing data produced by business transactions through in-depth analysis, and translation that information to present the story to the business to enable elevated business decisions.
This role has three key components: managing the data infrastructure, understand and analyzing data produced by business transactions through in-depth analysis, and translation that information to present the story to the business to enable elevated business decisions. This role will be expected to keep the organization abreast of best practices and be the go-to for cross-functional stakeholders.
WHAT YOU WILL DOPartner with all business functions at BRF to develop and commercialize data driven applications that bring new value to the business. You will engage with all business verticals including manufacturing, supply chain management, commercial, and customer engagement. Day to day activities include:
Collaborating with business stake holders to build credible business cases for new data driven applications, and ultimately be accountable for the value creation of these applications.Leading the development and commercialization of these applications, requiring active engagement in technical development, program management, and communication to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Continuous learning of best practices through participation in training, conferences, and related activities, and defining the application of these with BRF.Works on projects with moderate scope and influence on success of the organization.WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
MS degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Information Technology, or Computer Science with a concentration on data science and analytics with two years (2) of experience, co-op/internship experience will be considered applicable.We will also accept BS candidates with at least five (5) years of demonstrated relevant experience with industrial manufacturing organizations.Core technical skills are focused on the ability to transform raw data into meaningful insights from a variety of different systems. These skills include:
SQL database management and querying expertiseVisualization and analysis in modern business intelligence platforms such as Power BIStatistical analysis through platforms such as R and MinitabSome level of programming ability, preferably in Python
Strong technical skills need to be complemented by the following:
A passion for innovation and solving business problems with digital technologyBeing a quick learner with the ability to manage a diverse set of projectsThe ability to manage functionally diverse project teamsThe ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization
At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $85,000 and $95,000 per year. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
