Class Summary
Job Description This Program Leader in Parks and Recreation is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations at Pinckneyville Community Recreation Center.
Essential Duties
Planning, facilitating, and marketing of recreational programs, special events, athletics, and rentalsScheduling and permitting of leagues, tournaments, athletic fields, and pavilionsDeveloping program curriculums for camps, youth development, and community outreach programsPerforming inventory and maintenance of supplies and facility equipment; as well as, service requests, supply requisitions, marketing requests, and work ordersPerforming various clerical duties, such as, answering phone calls, greeting customers, data entry, and processing registrations and permitsAssisting supervisor with front desk duties, public relations, opening and closing procedures, managing staff members and volunteers, and serving as a liaison between youth, adults, and seniorsManaging safe operation and maintenance of county vehiclesPublic Speaking Duties
Addressing patrons during special events, workshops, and programs on pertinent informationOther Job Requirements/Information
Must be able to work a variety of hours, weekends, daytime, evenings, and holidaysGradeThe grade for this position is B22(1).
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in parks and recreation, health and human services, senior services, or a related field ANDOne year of programming, event planning, or community service experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Valid driver's licenseCPR Certification within 6 monthsFirst Aid Certification within 6 months

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County's values.
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
