Job Description
Our Commercial Real Estate Property Tax Services practice is seeking to hire a Senior Associate to work on tax consulting and valuation projects.
Note this position can be hybrid in our Atlanta or Chicago office.
Day-to-day responsibilities:Performing in-depth client, industry, and general market researchAnalyzing financial and market dataContributing to the development of presentations, proposals, and publicationsDevelopment of fair market value opinions using traditional business and property valuation techniques such as Discounted Cash Flow, Income Capitalization, Market, and Replacement Cost ApprochesPreparing financial models and analyses for income approach (including DCF), direct comparison approach and cost approach valuation methodsMarket, and Replacement Cost ApproachesPreparing and filling administrative appeals and refund claimsAssisting in the preparation of presentation materials for tax hearings.Assisting with preparation of project status reports for clientsTracking refunds and assisting with preparation of client invoicesAssisting with preparation of tax projection scenarios for pre- and post-acquisition due diligence•
Essential traits:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Real Estate or similarly related field OR a minimum of 4 years related work experienceMinimum 2 years of property tax related experienceTDLR License RequiredDesire to work towards a professional certification such as ASA, CMI, CFA, MAI or other similar accreditationProficient in Excel, Word and PowerPointStrong analytical skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong personal integrityAbility to travel as necessaryPrior experience in property tax capacity is desired
