Role Summary:

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is an over a trillion dollar investment management firm entrusted by investors around the globe to help them navigate changing market environments, so they can confidently realize their long-term objectives.

NTAM has embarked on an ambitious plan to modernize its data and analytics capabilities and embed a data-driven culture throughout the organization. NTAM is creating better ways of consuming, producing, delivering and managing data to help ourselves and our clients to become more efficient in their Data Management Practices.

The focus is on building Self-Service Analytics data products and capability by taking a customer first approach to instill trust in our data, generate insight and deliver the best client experience. This role ensures that we enable our internal customers to have the right data assets to enable users to self serve and drive data driven decisions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Build a world-class Data Products capability in the Analytics space. Responsibilities include:Define the data product roadmap, including the long-term vision and strategy for data products.Identify market opportunities while analyzing user needs to prioritize and plan the development of data products.Collaborate closely with others in NTAM to build a high-performing data product team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success in delivering high-quality data products, while promoting a collaborative and innovative culture within the team.Drive product development and delivery: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle.Support, challenge, and continually evolve our data strategy while defining our approach to data that will support the business in meeting its strategic priorities over timeDevelop and build strategic relationships with external parties to ensure the definition and delivery of analytics is future-proofed and in line with industry best practices.Encourage the entire business to be customer-focused and data-led to drive cultural change.Set up a culture of knowledge-sharing across Northern TrustLeverage Northern Trust's data expertise to proactively challenge and influence internal and external stakeholdersEffectively drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure success in delivering the data strategy.Perform launches and post launch assessments / recommendations.Necessary Knowledge and Skills:

Experience working within Asset Management spaceExperience and skills in building commercially productive data capabilities, be that in product generation of data sets and data domains for clients or Data Services that disrupt the competitive landscape.Proven track record of successful innovation and product launchPrior experience in commercial pricing, modelling and revenue generationPrior exposure or experience in the Data Management and the Data Products spaceProven experience in a delivery critical roleProven experience in a role which requires networking, partnership building and credibility development internally and externally to an organizationDemonstrated thought leadership through public speaking, sales pitches or demonstrationsThe successful candidate will be able to evidence the following in the first 6 months:3 Months : Expand the product proposition in the Self Service space, fully integrated with the product scrum teams, able to drive the product requirements and prioritization with the business. Whilst the framework will be set for all data products, the successful candidate will play a hands-on role to drive the next stage of product growth and maturity.6 Months+: Start to embed product success metrics, run product demo sessions with internal clients to show continuous, measurable evolution of adoption of data for analytical use.

Necessary Experience and Education:

10+ years of experience in Data & Analytics, Asset Management Data Domains, 5+ in Product Management is a mustAt least 6+ years in asset management/investment management.Experience in data sourcing and understanding of the third party datasetsBachelors degree in field like Math, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance (with focus on analysis), etc.; MBA or Masters in related field preferred but not required.
