The
Shipping/Receiving Specialist
will maintain an accurate and detailed process to control and register raw materials, equipment, tools, subassy and finished goods within the warehouse. This role requires a strong attention to detail when entering data while processing inventory transactions and will also work towards expediting and processing shipments to our Mexico plants in Matamoros, sister sites around the world and direct customers.
Main Responsabilities Shipping:Generate daily customer commits as per process and procedures dictate
Process and maintain inventory transaction documents. Process transactions according to company procedures
Lead material handlers on picks and packs based on customer directions and needs based on purchase orders.
Lead material handlers on put aways based on materials default bins.
Provide support in verifying physical merchandise within the warehouse (raw materials, finished goods and sub-assemblies)
Coordinate with Customer service all pull ins and push outs as customer requests
Coordinate with Brokers all legal documentation such as Certificates of origin, ITNS, POE
Prepare and process all shipping documents such as but not limited BOLS, Certificates, commercial invoices, tracking information.
File all BOL, Tracking information, Pos, Packing lists for audits and customers references.
Collaborate with various departments in Mexico as well as Corporate
Prepare and process shipping documents to plants in Mexico if in need for repairs and/or returns
Check in and verify all documents from Mexico facilities and report any discrepancies
Lead material handlers to load and unload truck in coordination with logistics coordinator
Loading and unloading trucks following safety rules
Packing and labeling boxes as part of shipment preparation
Prepare and process shipment documentation thru different carrier's website like UPS and FedEx World ship systems
Schedule carrier's pickup for local, domestic and international shipments based on customers instructions and needs
Main Responsabilities Receiving:
Controls and direct all activities connected with the receipt of goods included but not limited to raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods and repairs.
Control and direct all activities to route the goods to final destination
Process and maintain inventory transaction documents. Process transactions according to company procedures
Lead material handlers on picks and packs based on import export directions based on Mexicos needs (HOT, Normal, Definitivo, Horario, Chemicals, IN, repairs)
Lead material handlers on generating ticket number and inspect, count, and prepare receipts.
Provide support in verifying physical merchandise within the warehouse (ticket number )
Coordinate with import export and logistics to schedule pickups
Coordinate with Brokers assistants all legal documentation for Mexicos crossing.
Prepare and process all import documentation as needed.
File all BOL, Tracking information, Pos, Packing lists for audits.
Update department KPIs (order receipt, problem pos, etc)
Collaborate with various departments in Mexico as well as Corporate
Check in and verify all documents from suppliers report any discrepancies
Lead material handlers to load and unload truck in coordination with logistics coordinator
Loading and unloading trucks following safety rules
Packing and labeling boxes as part of shipment preparation
Comply with all corporate and site-Specific EHSS regulations
Mentor and train new receiving specialist as well as material handelers
Qualifications and Experience:
High School Diploma / GED required
Bilingual in English and Spanish prefered
Minimum 2 years of experience similar warehouse environments, preferably within a twin plant maquiladora framework
Able to lift up to 20lbs / Able to lift up to 50lbs
Forklift certification preferred
ISO 9000 certification knowledge
Knowledge and experience with import and export functions
Microsoft Office and basic computer skills required
Flexible work schedule. Willing to work weekends to cover special events/situations, like end of month, etc. and ensure that work is completed on time (minimal twice per month)
Basic/working knowledge of Excel
Able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months cand range from mild to moderate.
Medium-High computer skills
Custom Border Patrol Background check is required.
