We are seeking an experienced

Administrative Assistant

to add to our growing team at our

Gold (SUTQ) , NAC-accredited childcare and preschool center located at 2701 Maret PL NE, Canton, OH 44705.

As an

Administrative Assistant

you will work side-by-side supporting the Center Director with necessary behind-the-scenes duties, overseeing, planning, monitoring progress and assist with day-to-day operations. A successful candidate will collaborate with staff to ensure the efficient operation of all aspects of the center. You will work with and interact directly with parents, children, and staff on a daily basis. We offer competitive pay ranging from

$17.00 to $19.00 per hour

(depending on experience and credentials) in addition to an

ResponsibilitiesMaintain compliance with state child care licensing guidelinesOversee daily operations in coordination with the Center DirectorManage daily staff schedulingContribute to curriculum development and staff training programs, ensuring alignment with the center's educational philosophySupervise staff, monitor performance, and provide training to ensure adherence to center standardsAssist in hiring new staff and maintaining staff and children filesAct as a role model for classroom expectations and center cultureFoster community growth by promoting the center and increasing enrollmentMaintain regular communication with parents, addressing concerns and keeping them informed of new developmentsHost center events and provide tours to prospective familiesAnswer phone calls, greet visitors, and respond to inquiries in-person, by phone, by mail, or emailEnsure a safe, enjoyable environment for children and staff

Work Environment & Physical DemandsAbility to sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel and bend for long periods of timeAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsAble to walk up and down steps several times each dayAble to physically respond quickly in an emergencyParticipate in safety drills by following the established guidelines

RequirementsMinimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalentCandidates with a Child Development Associate (CDA), AA or higher Degree in Education with a concentration in Child Development or Early Childhood will have a competitive edgeAt least one year of child care experience working in a licensed ODJFS child care programProven experience as assistant director or other similar positionEnergetic, friendly, a team player, organized, problem solving ability and self-motivationComputer literacy and knowledge of basic software programsKnowledge of ODJFS licensing rulesClean BCI/FBI backgroundDemonstrated expertise in organizational, time management, and multitasking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy as well as must meet deadlinesWorking knowledge of MS Office and ExcelKnowledge of Procare is a plus
