ART DIRECTOR

Position Overview:

In this role, you will work with our highly collaborative team of Creative Strategists, Designers, Art Directors, Account Managers, Project Managers, and Creative Directors to own creative ideation from concept through to execution to meet client demands.

Our work lies at the intersection of PR and Creative. We make branded content with an eye to earned media. We make PR activations that deliver on creative campaigns. We write for all kinds of media - everything from social videos to Super Bowl ads. We bring what's happening in culture to every client brief. We take our jobs very seriously, but we do not take ourselves very seriously.

Responsibilities:

As Art Director, you will be responsible for ideating, developing, designing, and executing creative concepts and layouts for a variety of 360, cross-channel campaigns and initiatives. Reporting to the Creative Director, the Art Director must possess an acute understanding and deep knowledge of cultural and social media trends. Common projects include: branding, ads, digital content / website content, social media content, and PR mailers, product pages, and experiential activations.

Key Responsibilities:Own the visual development and execution of all creative workCollaborate with Copywriter to concept, develop, and execute creative of 360 campaigns & initiativesDevelop, evolve, and/or maintain brand visual identities across multiple clients & channels in tandem with Creative Director, Account Teams, and other partnersEnsure clients' messaging and images are conveyed in a brand-appropriate manner, crafting complex graphics, vector illustrations, and design solutions.Ability to receive and implement feedback from creative leadsCollaborate and partner with Copywriter & other team members to ensure work is always on brief and on brandContribute to the development of creative strategy and insights via researchAbility to synthesize creative insights and concepts based on researchConcept and execute creative deck designConcept, layout, and design social media, digital, and print/experiential assets utilizing typography and photo editingPerform light video editing and animation design for social contentDevelop moodboards, style guides, concepts, and look/feel for campaignsAttend photo and video shoots, helping with overall success of the productionContribute to new business development and pitchesPossess a genuine interest in and knowledge of emerging technologies, disruptive trends, and cultural tentpoles, and how to experiment with themManage your day to meet strict deadlines, and prioritize requestsContribute and mentor the growth of team membersWhat You'll Bring:

Requirements:

Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Fine Arts/Graphic Design degreeMinimum of 6 years' work experienceA portfolio that showcases strong design, typography, and production capabilitiesBackground in both photo and video shootsAbility to articulate design choices to fellow designers, account team members, & clientsStrong understanding & experience of the creative process: from kick-off to completionStay current on art trends, social media visual guidelines and specs, digital design, etc.Exceptional attention to detail and time management in a fast paced working environment.Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After EffectsProficient in Google Apps SuiteAn understanding and general knowledge of different types of creative mediums (illustration, animation, photo editing, etc)Nice to have: photo retouching, UI and web design as well as previous work in spirits, music, fashion or comparable.What We'll Bring:

Our Flexible Work Policy:

We believe that our best work happens in a hybrid working environment. If you are in the NYC (or commutable surrounding distance) hub we want to see you in person 2 days a week. That could mean in our office, in our client's office, on the road with them or attending an industry event.

For those outside the NYC hub, you will be asked to be in person too. Examples of this may include client meetings, events or team meetings. There will also be in person opportunities for you to connect with others who live in your hub to collaborate and work together.
