Our challenge
The Cyber Security Consultant will be part of the core IT Risk & Security Practice which concentrates domain expertise globally, supporting technical pre-sales and providing a talent pool of consultants to work on client-driven projects and/or delivery assistance on critical client projects. At Synechron, Practices play a pivotal role in driving commercial business opportunities with our clients and strong have strong delivery experiences in strategy, design and execution. This individual is expected to play both an individual contributor role and provide key subject matter expertise to support Sales and Delivery functions across accounts, able to pivot from periods of billable work to periods of sales-focused discipline.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY $170K - $200K/year and Charlotte, NC is $150K - $180K/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in Identity Access Management - including Authentication, Entitlements, SSO, MFA, and operating in modern hybrid organizations running public cloud, SaaS, and internal enterprise infrastructure, being familiar with complex organizations that have multiple authentication and identity platforms.
Candidate should have past work experience in highly regulated environments such as financial services or public sector government organizations with experience spread over Solution Architecture & Design, Execution & Delivery, Security Assessment and Technical sales support.
Requirements:
You are:
7-10 years Consulting experience in Financial Services and/or the public sector (government or critical infrastructure)
Deep experience and expertise in Authentication, Authorization and Entitlement Management.
5+ years of hands-on experience working with typical IAM tools including AD, Entra, LDAP, ForgeRock, Ping, Sailpoint, Savyint, Okta and/or CyberArk
5+ years of delivery and architecture work with the above-mentioned tools for both human users and system accounts.
3+ years in a hands-on role covering solution design, execution, and integration of Authentication and Authorization solutions covering enterprise-wide IdP integrations, SSO configurations, authentication policy, privileged access removal/re-alignment, and entitlement management policies for both client auth platforms and internal IT auth platforms.
Demonstrable experience in Security Assessments & Assessment Frameworks covering IAM, PAM, RBAC, Least Privilege Access, and Zero Trust principles
Strong familiarity with Risk Assessment Frameworks including ISO27001, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, CISA, and CRI
Advanced knowledge of Zero Trust principles across Identity, Data Protection, and Network Segmentation
3+ years in Solution and Integration architecture and demonstrable project work covering SSO integration, IdP integration
5+ years participating in sales engineering, presales support and/or client-focused pitches & proposals.
It would be great if you also had:
Relevant Certifications are a plus - CISSP, CISM, SSCP, CRISC, CCSP, CIAM, CIMP
Cloud Vendor Certifications are a plus - AWS Certified Security Specialty, GCP Cloud Security Engineer, Azure Cybersecurity Architect, and Azure Security, Compliance and Identity
