RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the program director in recruiting, training, and supervising direct service staff; provide monthly supervision sessions and regular performance reviewsMaintain familiarity with social services and resources available both on-site and in the community relating to mental health services, medical care, substance treatment, vital documents, benefits, legal/immigration services, and permanent housing; support direct service staff in accessing resources on behalf of clientsDrive agency vehicle to conduct routine field visits to see clients and to supervise staffConduct and write comprehensive psychiatric evaluations with the supervision of a licensed clinicianCoordinate caseloads and appointments for contracted psychiatric servicesProvide short-term therapeutic counseling and crisis intervention; support safety planning; conduct risk assessments and psychoeducation for high-risk clientsProvide scheduled on-call coverage for the BronxWorks mobile crisis teamMonitor program progress, ensure programs are meeting contractual goals, submit regular reports per funding requirements and internal policiesWork with the Program Director and fiscal department to plan and manage budgets, expenses, and fiscal reportsPerform additional duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)Candidate must have a valid driver's license which has been held for at least 1 year; in the last 3 years, candidate must have obtained no more than 3 license violation pointsKnowledge and experience working with diverse and trauma-impacted communitiesA minimum of two years' experience in social services; prior experience working with homeless populations preferredStrong oral and written communication skillsDetail-oriented and resourceful with strong time management and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technologyBilingual/multilingual preferred, but not requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To keep our clients and our colleagues safe and to comply with governmental contractual requirements, all new employees must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (except where valid medical exemptions apply) and will be required to submit proof prior to the time of onboardingAbility to use a computer for prolonged periodsAbility to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 poundsAbility to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of timeAbility to bend and retrieve objects and/or documentsAbility to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportationAbility to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field workTB Test required within the first 120 days of employment
