Position Overview:
Currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Sourcing Specialist with a strong background in operational and strategic sourcing across multiple manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that drive cost efficiencies, ensure quality, and support the company's manufacturing operations. This role requires a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex supplier relationships across diverse manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for materials, components, and services across multiple manufacturing facilities.Conduct market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities, assess supplier capabilities, and stay informed of industry trends and innovations.Lead the end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier identification, RFP/RFQ management, negotiation, contract execution, and supplier performance evaluation.Supplier Relationship Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with company goals and manufacturing needs.Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and delivery performance.Implement supplier development programs to enhance supplier capabilities and drive continuous improvement.Cost Management and Optimization:
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain, leveraging economies of scale, alternative sourcing options, and process improvements.Monitor and analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) for sourced materials and services, ensuring competitive pricing and value for the company.Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop and manage sourcing budgets, track savings, and report on financial performance.Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:
Work closely with manufacturing teams to understand production needs, align sourcing strategies, and ensure a reliable supply of materials and components.Drive process improvements in sourcing and procurement, utilizing lean principles and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.Support new product development (NPD) initiatives by sourcing materials and components that meet technical specifications and project timelines.Risk Management and Compliance:
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions, ensure continuity of supply, and manage supplier performance risks.Ensure all sourcing activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies, including environmental and sustainability standards.Stay informed of changes in global trade regulations, tariffs, and market conditions that may impact sourcing decisions.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and logistics teams to ensure sourcing decisions align with product specifications, quality standards, and operational goals.Facilitate effective communication between sourcing, manufacturing, and other departments to optimize supply chain performance and project outcomes.Participate in cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives, such as supplier consolidation, insourcing/outsourcing, and product lifecycle management.Data-Driven Decision Making:
Utilize data analytics tools to monitor sourcing performance, track key metrics (e.g., cost savings, supplier performance, lead times), and support decision-making.Prepare and present reports to senior management on sourcing strategies, market conditions, and supplier performance.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a multi-manufacturing environment.Proven experience in managing sourcing activities across diverse manufacturing settings, including complex supply chains and global suppliers.Strong negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable contract terms.In-depth knowledge of supply chain dynamics, sourcing strategies, and procurement best practices.Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software, such as ERP systems, and data analytics tools.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
