POSITION SUMMARY:
The Supply Chain summer internship will consist of meaningful business projects and on-the-job mentorship from our Supply Chain management team over the duration of 10-11 weeks. Interns will be exposed to all functions of Supply Chain and gain an in-depth understanding of the business. As an intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to learn and contribute to one of the following areas: Supply Chain Operations, Supply Chain Transformation, Supply Assurance, Services Supply Chain and/or Supply Chain Business Operations.
Internship locations may include Houston, TX, Chicago, IL, Marion, OH, Cleveland, TX, Evanston, WY, Altoona, PA, Muscatine, IA, Ville Platte, LA, Valdosta, GA, or El Dorado, KS (must live in proximity to commute to locations within these areas). The internship will be 10 - 11 weeks during working hours at the Repair shop.
The Supply Chain Internship is an hourly non-exempt role and would be paid at $21 per hour - $23 per hour. Due to the short-term nature of this internship, the intern will not be eligible for any company-provided benefits or paid vacation time customarily offered to full-time, long-term employees.
Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Completion of a real-world capstone project, presented to Supply Chain leadership team - Senior LevelInteract with a diverse group of professionals related to supply chain ranging from inventory clerks in the warehouse to department Directors and Vice Presidents.Job-shadow many different roles within supply chain including but not limited to plant locations and warehouses.Support the Supply Chain team on various Supplier and Internal Customer initiatives.Create and maintain reports impacting daily operations.Continuous improvement projectsData health monitoringConfiguration updatesERP go-live preparation - Moving to D365 Microsoft Dynamics - new business platformBuild insightful dashboards and learn and utilize various analytics platforms such as Power BI, D365.Work with Microsoft to create dynamic flows that automate various business processes.Help ensure the data quality of our overall Source to Pay processes.SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail-oriented with excellent organization and time management skills.Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations.Familiarity with consignment inventory, receiving, and quality best practices.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, innovative, and challenging environment.Ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, ear plugs, and respirators.Ability to see and hear the visual and audio safety warnings in the plant.Ability to bend, stoop and stretch to perform tasks.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Supply Chain Management or a related subject such as Economics, Analytics, or Information Technology and in good academic standing.Understanding of supply chain operations, planning, and management.Leadership and project management skills demonstrated through participation in extra-curricular activities or previous work experience.
