ServiceNow CMDB Architect / Subject Matter Expert (SME)Washington, DC (Hybrid Remote)
MUST:Experienced ServiceNowArchitectctive SECRET government security clearance with the ability to obtain TOP SECRET7+ years of experience with ServiceNow, with a focus on CMDB architecture, configuration management, and asset discovery.Proven hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, including data model design, integration with discovery tools, and workflow automation.Proficiency in developing and customizing ServiceNow modules and scripts, including JavaScript, and knowledge of APIs for integration.Experience with SharePoint development and integration, including creating dashboards and reporting tools for executive use.Experience with IT operations management (ITOM) and IT service management (ITSM) modules in ServiceNow, and integrating CMDB with those modules.Familiarity with ServiceNow discovery tools and CMDB integration points with third-party systems, including security tools and network management platforms.Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulatory frameworks like NIST and FISMA, though the focus remains on CMDB management.Experience in developing ServiceNow reporting and dashboards, including performance analytics and metrics.Strong understanding of IT asset and configuration management best practices, with experience aligning CMDB to ITIL standards.Knowledge of ITIL best practices for configuration and asset management, with certification preferred.Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
DUTIES:rchitect and configure the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring proper data models, relationships, and CI (Configuration Item) attributes are accurately implemented and maintained.Lead the hands-on design and implementation of asset discovery and data collection processes in ServiceNow, ensuring automated updates for IT assets.Work with IT and business stakeholders to define requirements, align CMDB architecture with business needs, and implement best practices for CI data management and governance.Develop and maintain ServiceNow CMDB workflows and integrations with other ServiceNow modules (e.g., Incident Management, Change Management, ITOM) to ensure end-to-end data consistency and functionality.Create a front-end executive dashboard on SharePoint to display key metrics and CMDB data, integrating real-time ServiceNow data to provide actionable insights for leadership.Implement and manage discovery tools and ensure seamless data flow between ServiceNow CMDB and other systems, maintaining accuracy and minimizing data gaps.Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure that CMDB data is leveraged in change management, incident response, and security monitoring.Perform regular audits of the CMDB to ensure data quality, completeness, and accuracy, identifying and resolving any inconsistencies or gaps.Lead efforts to enhance automation within the CMDB, including the automation of CI relationships and asset lifecycle tracking to improve efficiency.Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams on best practices for managing ServiceNow CMDB, including troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and implementing enhancements.Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, ensuring that the CMDB supports organizational security and compliance efforts, although security is secondary to CMDB management.Progression Inc. is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
