In our 17,000 square foot veterinary medical center, we offer general veterinary medicine and wellness care, therapeutic and surgical laser, digital radiology and ultrasound diagnostics, rhinoscopy, dental care, internal medicine, pet grooming, doggie daycare, and state of the art boarding.
Position Purpose
Reporting into the Regional Director of Operations, the Practice Manager manages all essential business functions in the veterinary practice and supports the practice teams. The Practice Manger works in partnership with the Managing Doctor (MDVM) to ensure successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, and to manage practice teams. In collaboration with the MDVM, the Practice Manager is responsible for ensuring profitability of the practice, growing the business and all the while protecting the practice legacy. The Practice Manager must be a strong people manager, possess great business acumen, and enjoy leading and developing a team. Additionally, they should ensure the practice has engaged and productive teams that are driving high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.

Essential Responsibilities
Drive revenue for practice growthManage expenses including but not limited to drugs and supplies, labor and facility costsAssist in developing and maintaining salary schedules and job evaluations for all employeesProvide input on an annual budgetTriage in-house human resource issues and collaborate with the Heartland Human Resources teamEstablish and execute performance evaluationsEstablish internal operating procedures for the administration of the practice to ensure accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports, format, and compliance with the accepted hospital practices.Partner with the MDVM to ensure all team members are adhering to practice operating procedures that ensure the accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports and ensure formats are in compliance with accepted practice guidelines.Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws. This includes but is not limited to OSHA, DEA, EEOC, ADA, and the Department of Labor. Develop and maintain procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.Frequently connect with Heartland RDO to ensure the practice and teams have everything they need to ensure high performance client satisfaction.Partners with Heartland's Support Center as needed to grow the business.Any other duties deemed necessary.Requirements/Qualifications
Ability to work on weekends when neededHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious management experience is requiredPrevious veterinary medicine experience is preferredAbility to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistanceOversee OSHA safety techniques including use of proper PPEComputer skills, MS office applications, etc.Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosagesStrong communication skills to ensure patient safetyBenefits Offered
