Company Overview:
Our client is a leader in the logistics and supply chain industry, specializing in international freight forwarding services. They are currently seeking an experienced International Sales/Business Development Manager (BDM) to join their team. The BDM will be responsible for driving the growth of import/export sales (air/ocean) on an international scale. This role involves working closely with the Branch Manager and Vice President of Sales to exceed revenue targets by promoting and selling the company's services within a designated territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Develop new business opportunities through research, prospecting, and customer visits.
Build and maintain strong relationships within the assigned geographical area.
Successfully close new business deals and onboard new clients.
Expand market share within the assigned territory to meet volume, revenue, and profit targets.
Client Management:
Maintain ongoing communication with all clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Address and resolve any sales or delivery issues promptly.
Manage client relationships, using established tools to exceed targets and expectations.
Provide weekly follow-ups with new clients post-first shipment to ensure satisfaction.
Sales Administration:
Collaborate with the Pricing team to develop competitive pricing strategies and rate quotes.
Monitor and maintain clients' credit lines in accordance with company guidelines.
Regularly update the CRM system and provide monthly budget reviews for management.
Ensure all client contracts are communicated effectively and timely to relevant parties.
Supplier & Contract Management:
Ensure customer requests related to commercial activities are completed promptly and at the highest service level.
Adhere to client service level agreements and maintain professionalism in all client interactions, including entertainment activities when required.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of international sales experience in freight forwarding.
Proven ability to grow sales and bring new clients into the business (a book of business is a plus).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
High level of organization and time management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a strong understanding of CRM systems.
Confidence in the ability to bring in new clients, with no non-compete restrictions.
