Are you ready to take your financial expertise to the next level? We're seeking a Cost Accountant to work alongside our Controller, handling critical financial, analytical, and accounting functions. In this role, you'll play a key part in developing and maintaining product costs, analyzing operational variances, and providing insightful production metrics for decision-making. You'll have the opportunity to drive financial efficiency, identify trends, and recommend improvements that will directly impact our success. salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate financial entries into the MRP system and maintain daily financial reports.
Analyze direct and indirect labor variances and conduct scrap analysis.
Lead product cost development for budgeting and generate weekly variance reports.
Recommend improvements for reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Maintain and update financial databases, including cost standards and inventory tracking.
Monitor MRP system accuracy and address errors in production reporting, shipping, and receiving.
Review production transactions and support inventory activities.
Analyze and maintain product structures, including bills of materials.
Validate the cost of goods sold during month-end closing and analyze cost variances.
Summarize financial data for management reports and assist with budget and forecast models.
Provide financial guidance to operating management, ensuring proper control of budgeted plans.
Track financial performance by analyzing variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (advanced degree a plus).
5+ years of accounting experience with a strong cost accounting background.
Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience (Trans4M preferred).
strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
