Job Title: Manager of Project Managment

Location: Grafton WI (just outside of Milwaukee)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent provides project management leadership and management for projects accepted by the Pennsville site, including internal and external technical transfer projects, product development and commercialization projects, and process improvement projects for the Pennsville plant. Creates and works within the limits and constraints of the budget and schedule. Ensures project deliverables, goals and objectives are agreed to with the project sponsor and understood by the project team. Supervises and trains junior level project managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

:

Has overall responsibility for assigned projects

Develops and improves project management tools as required

Evaluates projects based on customer requests, gathers information from relevant departments, and provides written evaluations to business development

Reviews business development proposals.

Supports Business Development in the completion of Customer questionnaires/surveys, hosting customer visits, and responding to Customer inquiries

Participates in and provides input the weekly Project Committee (PComm)

Communicates clearly, effectively and timely with the project team, customer and management

Provides regular updates on projects to the steering committee and management, where applicable.

Establishes a project plans and charter (for internal projects) with objectives, milestones, resource requirements, and costs. Identifies critical issues to deliver projects within quality, schedule and budget requirements.

Leads and builds multi-disciplinary project teams. Manages activities of team members and ensures timely and accurate reporting of critical information.

Manages interdepartmental teams: does not make decisions for other departments but guides the decision making process and works in a matrix organization.

Leads internal and joint project team meetings. Schedules meetings, provides agendas and issues minutes including action items with assignments and due dates.

Regularly prepares meeting minutes, updates project plans and keeps project members, customers and management informed of project progress and status.

Tracks and measures progress of all activities against plan.

Identifies critical project tasks and issues. Implements courses of action to ensure key milestones are achieved. Notifies relevant personnel of risks and/or issues.

Manages complex problems, evaluates data and exercises independent judgment to develop solutions.

Demonstrates technical proficiency and collaborates with others.

Communicates project changes (scope, schedule and budget) with the customer contact (e.g., product manager) and team members. Ensures changes are fully documented.

Prepares scope change documents and invoice requests.

Job Description: Sr. Manager, Project Management

Functions as the primary contact for project issues, including the planning and execution of defined deliverables, project resources, schedule and budget.

Coordinates / facilitates on-site customer visits during manufacturing activities associated with new projects

Adheres to personal moral, ethical, legal, and behavioral conduct that is in compliance with the Siegfried Code of Conduct.

Adheres to all SHE and cGMP regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

:

A degree in Organic Chemistry, Engineering or relevant life sciences discipline is required, PhD preferred.

Must have thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug substance development and/or manufacturing processes and experience with team-based matrix management.

Must have a working knowledge of process chemistry, analytical chemistry and manufacturing.

7+ years related experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar organization with project management and staff supervisory expertise.

Must have thorough knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) best practices or experience managing API manufacturing projects, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ICH standards (e.g., Q7A).

Must have demonstrated ability to lead and influence others to achieve outcomes.

Must have ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships and expectations.

Must have ability to effectively guide and lead teams to achieve desired results within timelines and budget commitments.

Must show ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.

SUPERVISION:

The incumbent works independently with minimum supervision from the direct supervisor.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to work efficiently with people of all levels and cultures.

Must be very conscientious and detail-oriented.

Must be a team player.

Must be a self-starter and initiator.

Must be willing to travel on occasion.

Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours
