As an Inventory Control Analyst you are responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of raw material and packaging supply for US Precipitated. The Analyst will be tasked with taking the demand plan and developing the supply plans using capacity modeling while ensuring the lowest cost of ownership model for the business. This role also acts as a liaison and communication point between Plants, Sales, Transportation, Re-Packers, and Warehousing, keeping all parties apprised of potential problems or issues impacting the business. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, using analytical skills to resolve issues/problems. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and accurately report and record the receipt of imported/transferred raw materials, shipping, and packaging supplies, etc.Manage sufficient but efficient and cost-effective levels of packaging supplies, such as bags and pallets.Analyze and manage raw material purchasing for the plant to ensure smooth operations.Maintain adequate levels of shipping and packaging supplies in plant and all 3rd party packaging sites to ensure the uninterrupted packing and shipping of products.Coordinate the overall prioritization of packaging and loading of all package types with Supply Chain Manager, Shipping Manager, Day Shipping Supervisor, and Shipping Shift Supervisors to meet customer requirements and shipping department goals. Create planned orders in SAP to meet packing priorities.Manage production planning activities in SAP with the Operations Manager at the site.Communicate and drive the On Time in Full shipments of package trucks, working with Corporate Transportation and the Supply Chain Manager, to develop an achievable schedule for the Lake Charles facility.Ensure inventory accuracy of raw materials and packaging supplies weekly and monthly.Track loading and packing productivity, analyzing campaigns to develop packaging stocking proceduresReconcile campaign performance on each dryer, comparing planned tonnage, precipitated tonnage, and packed tonnage.Accurate completion of customer billing for bulk truck and railcar shipments.Input COA information into customer-specific electronic systems for bulk truck and railcar shipments.QualificationsBachelor's Degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Business disciplineAt least 2-5 years of experience in a planning environment Previous experience in a Supply Planning or Supply Chain Management environment is strongly desirableSAP experience a plus Must be proficient in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other desktop applications for modeling.Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organizationAbility to work in a fast-paced, ever changing dynamic environmentAbility to build strong work relationships is essentialPPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
