Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism is accepting applications for the
Spring 2025 (January 13- April 25, 2025)
Internships.
The Social Media Specialist Intern will support Tourism in providing customer service, assists with marketing activities, manage social media accounts, take videos and prepare reels and create other various content.
Learning Objectives include:Customer service.Assists with analyzing the results of social media marketing effortsAssists creating content for videos and other publicationsUses digital publication software and other media toolsProvides insight, identifies trends, and analyzes performance metrics for optimal user engagement and reach. Works closely with department staff to identify promotional needs.Actively participate in programs, activities and events with diverse groups.Assists with logistical operations for various events and activities.Engages with the public and event/program participants for marketing promotionsAssist with ensuring that all material adheres to the city and department guidelines for social media and city and department branding guidelines.Required QualificationsMust be a college student in good academic standing, or a recent college graduate (i.e., within one year of graduation).
Requires a valid driver's license with a driving record that complies with the
City Driving Standards

College-level education in a related field such as business, marketing, and multimedia production management, recreation, tourism, or leisure services.
