Other divisions of Post include Post Consumer Brands (Cereal), Weetabix (Cereal - UK), Michael Foods (Foodservice), and 8th Avenue Food & Provisions (Private Label). Post has aggressive growth plans for BEF, highlighted by the recent deployment of capital to support innovation, marketing and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
The Plant Manager 1 provides leadership and direction to the plant in all areas of responsibility including safety, quality, people, production, packaging, quality, maintenance, plant supply chain operations and purchasing. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and site specific strategic plan execution to ensure production goals are met in the most cost effective manner, delivering expected financial results.
Directs the overall activities of the manufacturing facilities of the plant to ensure demand is met, and product is produced and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customers' requirements while maintaining corporate established quality standardsIs responsible for expense control, including shrink, labor and overhead costs utilizing Continuous Improvement techniquesDevelops annual plant budget in partnership with other functions, aligned with forecasted sales volumes and planned inventory levelsDevelops and manages implementation of plant capital budgetPartners with finance to ensure end of month closing schedules are metEnsures that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOP's) are developed and maintained for all aspects of the businessIs responsible for expense management and control, including shrink, labor and overhead costs utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques and a Management Operating Structure (MOS)Implements plant safety programs and ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP's)Partners with Quality to ensure the Food Security Policy/Program to assess potential food security risks and to ensure food security preventive measures are being implemented and routinely audited regarding the manufacturing, handling and storage of all food ingredients as well as finished goodsIs responsible for all corporate, customer and government audits to ensure compliance.Is responsible for environmental complianceCollaborates with other plant managers to share best practicesIs responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and employee commendationHas supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.Is supported by corporate functions to manage the overall succession planning and development of plant management staff.Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Engineering, Operations or Business ManagementMinimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process improvement roles including managing teams of peoplePrevious experience working in a Lean environmentSix Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plusFamiliarity with regulatory bodies (e.g. EPA, FDA, OSHA, etc.) required
