Sr. Data Engineer position will be responsible to

architect and solution

(application development) a

Data transformation roadmap

for Citi HR Data by leveraging curated data engineering principles, architecture, design patterns and industry popular data tools and technologies.

The ideal candidate will also be responsible to

support Data related applications

like Data Marketplace that will help provide data to all data consumers in Citi. We are looking for:

A highly skilled and experienced Sr. Data Engineer /Architect with a strong background in

designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure, pipelines and solutions

.​

Responsible for designing robust data architectures,

virtualization/caching

(required), optimizing data workflows, and ensuring the

reliability, security, and performance

of our data systems

Someone who is well versed in Data Engineering vocabulary and concepts like

data APIs

, data availability, data quality, data management, metadata management, reference data management, data governance, data catalog,

data virtualization

and data optimization

Strong awareness of data tools and platforms like:

Starburst

,

Snowflakes

, Data Bricks, Trino, Ab Initio, Talend, Big Data and programming languages like

SQL, R, Python, Shell Scripting

Good working knowledge of Batch job management using Autosys, data modelling (physical and logical) and awareness of data catalog tools is preferred (like Collibra)

Clear understanding of data transmission protocols like

SFTP, https

and appreciation for data encryption and data security.

Hands-on experience with some data analytics (BI) tools like

Tableau, MicroStrategy, KNIME

Awareness of ITEss

(IT Enabled Software Solution) in Citi

Additional Responsibilities:

Hands-on skills

to manage Data Engineering functions including Data Integration, pipelines, Virtualization and data infrastructure (see above)

Utilize in-depth

knowledge and skills across multiple Applications

Development areas to provide technical oversight across Data systems and applications

Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for data Engineering projects

Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals

Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations

Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

10+ years of relevant experience in the Data Engineering space

Experience as Data Applications Development Manager

Stakeholder and people management experience

Demonstrated leadership skills

Proven project management skills

Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards

Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Master’s degree preferred

$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
