We are seeking an individual with strong knowledge in the mortgage industry to join the professional team in our Madison, WI office, in the role of Mortgage Processor/Closer. This role is responsible for preparing loan estimates and reviewing credit package documentation for final underwriting. Responsible for preparing mortgage closing documents including closing disclosures.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
Mortgage Processing & Closing
prepare loan estimates using processing instructions provided by originating bankProcess re-disclosures within Truth in Lending Act (TILA)/Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (TRID) guidelines.Process applications in accordance with applicable regulations and investor guidelines. Review loan application documents for completeness and accuracy and update loan origination system accordingly.Obtain documentation according to initial underwriting findings.Order verifications of employment, deposit, mortgage, loan and rent as applicable. Order IRS transcripts. Order pre-close credit reports and verbal verifications of employment. Upload XML's and obtain successful UCDP reports.Demonstrated understanding of TRID fee placement, tolerances and timelines surrounding delivery of loan estimates and closing disclosures.Prepare mortgage closing documents including the closing disclosure, using closing instructions provided by originating bank, within regulations and investor guidelines including USDA, VA and ARM loans.Effectively communicate with partner banks throughout the origination and closing process.
Customer Service and Administrative
Provide customer service that exceeds expectations.Participate in receipt of and response to inbound bank customer service calls.Return calls and emails in a reasonable timeframe.Active and engaged team participant through collaboration channels; in person, email & via phone.Manage assigned pipeline of loans in processing and closing. Ensure excellent communication and deadlines are maintained.Disclose any problems or errors in an expedient manner demonstrating problem solving and detailing solutions for the customer.Monitor the department processing and closing email inbox (PINbox) as neededAttend in person department meetings as requested.
Qualified candidate will possess an associates degree in finance, business administration, or other related field. Qualified candidates will also have at least one year of residential mortgage loan origination experience.
