Role Description:
Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer - Public Works for our Denver office. The candidate will have at least 8+ years experience and will be a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado with Public Works projects. Duties include but not limited to, initial project research, plan production and management of plan production staff, plan processing and management of plan processing efforts, construction administration and project close out efforts.Location:

Duties:Function as a Lead Civil Engineer within Public Works practicesPrepare preliminary engineering reports.Research jurisdictional requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawingsPrepare of proposal/contract and of project work plans and schedulePrepare design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and information obtained from research activitiesCoordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work.Prepare GIS exhibits.Conduct site visits and documents findingsWork directly with clients and directing a staff with varied levels of experience and expertiseAttend, record, and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondenceWrites or prepares graphic materials for presentations or documentsManaging staff in the following duties of hydrology and hydraulic, flood analysis, stormwater treatment, managing clientsInitiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriateKey Responsibilities:Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.Successfully and consistently functions as Lead Principal-in-Charge for their designated Practice Area in geographic market.Competent, knowledgeable, service leader in the market(s) they service.Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Verifies client satisfaction routinely and shares feedback with team.Proactively works with PM to strategize resolving issues that impact project performance. Reviews progress with PM at least monthly (including & completes vs. % spent) and that PM is adhering to weekly rhythm.Successfully contributes to the overall profitability and financial performance on projects.Oversees staff deliverables and production assigned to their projects to ensure client, legal, and company requirements are met.Role Competencies:Sharing Information:
