Job Purpose
To support and assist all shipping duties of the Shipping and Receiving department
Job Responsibilities

Daily material handling activities at the AEC
Deliver and pick up materials, parts, and Kanban cards on designated water spider routes at designated timesWork with VSLs, Team leads and Quality Techs with material flow between the stockroom, warehouse and the shop floorWork with Stockroom Attendant to prepare materials to be delivered to ProductionPerform weekly inventory countsEnsure batch/lot (FIFO & FEFO) on material being transactedAssist with hardware kits to support production needsPerform all relevant SAP transactions and reportingLoading and unloading freight vehicles with forklift and necessary material handling equipmentPackage material for transport/storage as requiredWork flexible hours to achieve daily departmental objectivesUnderstand and work on customer shipment schedulesPrepare outbound shipments and make necessary logistics arrangementsPrepare all outbound shipment documentation
Observe Safety policies, programs and initiatives including work place organizationEnsure that all company and governmental policies and procedures are adhered to.Troubleshoot and assist in solving problems.Drive continuous improvements in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.Housekeeping and organization (5S) of the work areas (Receiving, Stockroom and Warehouse)Interact and coordinate activities with other departments as necessaryEmbody the Albany Engineered Composites core values Safety, Respect, Ethical Behavior, Fact-Based, Accountability, and Persistence.Any other duties assignedNothing in this document restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time
High school diploma or recognized equivalentValid driver's licenseSAP system experience preferredShipping and Receiving experience preferredMust be able to demonstrate organizational skillsAbility to work independently with little supervisionDetail oriented in terms of documentationSkills:
Basic math skillsExceptional organizational skillsMultitasking abilitiesComplete forklift and powerlift certificationSafely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment and be able to pass certificationAbilities:
Computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, SAP)Complete IATA, IMG and ground Dangerous Goods certification as requiredPerform Shipping and Receiving functions as requiredAbility to communicate in English via written and spoken wordsAbility to safely lift up to 50lbs.Proper use of safety and personal protective equipmentWorking Conditions
Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, overtime dependent on business need.
Physical requirements
Frequent repetitive hand movements, use of hand tools - band cutters, box cutters, scissors, etc...
Must be able to detect and recognize visual differences between materials or parts, etc...
Frequently moves materials and parts >25 lbs between pallets and carts
