Job Description
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS :Manage employee relations functions to include coaching/counseling all levels of organization, climate surveys, Board of Review, roundtables, exit interview analysis, visibility programs, H.R. office, and response to 3rd party organizing attempts.Conducts investigations and partners with Legal on responses EEOC complaints.Enforce policies and procedures and employee-related programs that meet company objectives.Recommend/Implement changes in H.R. programs, systems, policies/procedures as necessary to ensure new programs are effective and cost efficient.Consult with management on all performance related issues and concerns.Consistently demonstrate excellent communication skillsEstablish and maintain relationships with employees at all levels of the organization providing both employees and managers accurate feedback.Must make decisions based on business needs for high performing employees as well as knowledge of IRGC regulations and State and Federal laws, and implement those decisions in a fair and consistent manner.Supports employee activities, reward/recognition programs such as employee of the month programs, Caesars Award of Excellence Awards, service awards, etc. and communication programs including employee newsletters, bulletin boards, and property-wide communication.Achieves desired results in all areas of responsibility through staff development and training programs, established methods, procedures and guidelines to maintain desired standards, and high quality service. Then, monitors results through inspection, evaluation and analysis. Makes changes if necessary to achieve end result.Management accountability for all team members for day to day and long term operations to include hiring, training and developing employees which includes coaching, mentoring and appropriate performance management up to and including separation.Lead an organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior.Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required, emphasis in Human Resources Management preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years supervisory experience, minimum three years experience in H.R. functions with a concentration in employee/labor relations required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess excellent communication skills, particularly those skills needed to resolve employee complaints/issues and influence leadership in handling difficult situations.Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations with co-workers, guests and vendors.Strong problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills (verbal and written) required.Thorough knowledge of all employment related laws including Civil Rights, EEO, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, Iowa Racing and Gaming CommissionStrong computer literacy required.Ability to handle complex and emotional issuesAbility to maintain confidentiality.Must be able to manage multiple objectives and tasks simultaneously, and continually assess and re-set priorities.Must be able to get along with co-workers and work well as an inspirational team leader.Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated businessAbility to communicate across all levels of the organization and within the sales process.Ability to effectively manage time and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, Access and Microsoft Outlook.Ability to stand and walk, and mobility to move easily around entire property for entire shift. Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 20 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas.WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues.Must be able to work in areas containing dust, second hand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibration, crowds and air quality.Must be flexible with schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
