Accountant .Responsibilities
Position Summary/ Primary PurposeReporting to the Manager of Cost Accounting, as a part of a cross functional Team, this person supports forecasting, cost and project accounting responsibilities.
Major Areas of ResponsibilityBasic Understanding and Support of Cost Accounting Level I and II responsibilities
Supports and understands daily processing of contract orders and changes as neededCoordinate as needed for entries and activities related to Inter-company orders and consolidated reporting implications.Monthly Account reconciliations and related reporting for all departmental workMonthly review and coordination of Company forecast at a lead and mentoring level, coordinating with others as needed to improve accuracy.Review and analysis of moderate and complex projects and / or other short cycle orders as neededSupport and develop processes in compliance with accounting policies and procedures (JSOX)Provide leadership, mentoring, testing and implementation on special projects inside and outside of Department as required such as consolidation, integration, improvement of and migration of our systems as needed to reach operational and reporting requirements.Contributes to and can lead team efforts to accomplish related results as neededMeet regularly with Operations personnel to gage project financial performance and support improved decision making.Publish and upgrade various managerial accounting reportsProcess improvementBasic Broad Knowledge
English LanguageKnowledge of cost and US GAAP accounting principles, including various methods of revenue recognitionProduction and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel)

BS degree in accounting, finance or related field and / or equivalent experience in a cost accounting role in a manufacturing and /or Engineer-to-order environment.
