Starkey is hiring a Senior Cost Accountant at our Global Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. This position is responsible for working in a global corporation providing cost accounting support for multiple manufacturing sites. This role will provide cost accounting, reporting and analysis to support company objectives and improvements for inventory management, product cost/ profitability, manufacturing productivity and overall process efficiency across several factoriesAt Starkey, we are in the business of connecting people and changing lives. Founded in 1967, Starkey is known for its innovative design, development and distribution of comprehensive digital hearing systems.Headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Starkey has more than 5,000 employees globally, operates 29+ facilities and does business in more than 100 markets worldwide.Here's a video about the people behind Starkey's groundbreaking innovation:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjhRQ7qzlI0JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement cost standards for materials and laborAnalyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing actual results to standard costsPrepare and input accounting journal entries, documentation, and financial reporting data to support accurate & timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and corporate financial policiesPrepare account reconciliations and reviews, to ensure proper balance sheet valuation and reportingPrepare and communicate monthly analysis of manufacturing variances and recommend actions for improvementPartner with site operations to develop and review standards costs & product cost performanceAssist with audits and internal control reviews, including documentationSupport the physical inventory counts and periodic cycle countsAssist in identifying and driving best in class process improvement strategiesSupport system updates and maintenanceUpdate process documentation including accounting policies and procedure
JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum Education, Certification and Experience RequirementsEducation4-year degree in Business/Finance/Accounting and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree and CMA certification is helpful.
Experience5+ years of related experience working in finance and cost accounting in a manufacturing companyCost Accounting experience highly desired. Proficient with Oracle ERP
Knowledge / Technical RequirementsAbility to apply knowledge of GAAP & Cost Accounting StandardsIntermediate level of experience required with Oracle, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
