The Undergraduate Program Administrator provides mission-critical support to the Department of Chemistry. The Administrator works closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure the success of the departments instructional programming and the undergraduates it serves.

Admissions and Advising: The Administrator coordinates undergraduate orientation activities for new and transfer students, provides advising to first-year undergraduates, and assists the faculty instructor of CH195, Freshman Seminar in the Chemical Sciences. Administration: Chemistry courses receive over 4,500 enrollments each academic year, supporting the educational objectives of students across multiple University colleges and programs. The Administrator partners with staff and faculty in Chemistry, the College of Arts & Sciences, the Registrars office, and other units to manage the logistics of the program, including course and exam scheduling, student enrollments, and the accuracy of department offerings in the College Bulletin.

Program Development and Student Support: The Administrator works with the Undergraduate Program Director and the Undergraduate Program Committee to support admitted students, tracking student progress and ensuring that students understand and satisfy program requirements on the path to graduation. The Administrator also serves as the contact point for students enrolled in Chemistry courses and programming, providing resources and support.

Other Requirements

B.A./B.S. degree

3-5 years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting
