SummaryOverseeing the Engineering function for the company, the Engineering Manager is responsible for our products, processes, and customer experience through various activities. The Engineering Manager role supports both new and existing business by collaborating with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Quality to develop and improve manufacturing processes. Reporting into the VP of Operations, this person supports a team that oversees quoting, routings, part drawings, material selection, tool design, equipment specifications, new business project management, and processes that drive efficiency and minimize variance in our manufacturing operations. With a direct link to our bottom line, this leader drives results while maintaining our integrity to ourselves and our customers. High proficiency in Project Management and SolidWorks is critical to the success of this role.

Ensure that the company’s manufacturing processes follow safety regulations and requirements while driving quality, delivery, and cost standards.Produces new product models and drawings according to customer requirements.Develop and document manufacturing processes that follow ISO9001-13485 and QMS standards.Evaluate and implement new equipment and automation for manufacturing to support sales growth and expand product offerings.Design and validate new tooling and machinery for production processes that meet or exceed customer qualification.Establish labor and material standards used to estimate and quote new business.Analyze and plan workflow, labor standards, work centers, and material flow to optimize production throughput and efficiency.Apply knowledge of product design, materials, machines, tooling, and inspection to increase production efficiencies, improve costs, and reduce production variances.Strong SolidWorks proficiency with administrative capabilities.Lead or participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement projects.Mentor Engineering team and manage their workload to improve speed and quality of work to meet company deadlines.Owns Engineering documentation and processes per Tanis QMS.Always works in accordance with Tanis mission and values.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience3 or more years of SolidWorks project experience2 or more years of Project Management experience2 or more years of automation experience with demonstrated operational efficiency gains.1 or more years of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or Continuous Improvement experience1 or more years of Supervisory or Management experience
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis role oversees the Engineering team comprised of Engineering Technician’s and Manufacturing Engineers.
