JMT is seeking Transportation Quality Assurance Inspectors on PennDOT’s Major Bridge Initiative in the Jefferson County area. The project location is SR 80, over the North Fork of Red Bank Creek. The project is a multi-year position with year-round work. The successful candidates will apply standard quality assurance inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.
Salary range is $30.00 - $35.00/hour.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
This is a Quality Assurance Inspection Position on a large, multiyear, complex, highway construction project which includes multiple structures, roadway restoration and traffic improvements. This position includes verification and documentation of compliance with contract requirements and PennDOT Construction
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Perform verification of conformance to standards for testing on concrete, soils, and other materials.
Ability to measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
Record field notes, other documentation, computations and prepares reports.
Gathers, review, and maintains project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other documentation systems)

Required Skills
Computer proficiency, communication, and documentation skills.
Active driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Three years (minimum)
of Construction Inspection Experience (Transportation preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Client Requested certifications (required to meet TCI-3 qualifications), including:
NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
NECEPT-Bituminous Field Technician
PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite)
CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5
