Position Description:

Evaluates, designs, coordinates and implements training and education programs specific to departmental specialty. Conducts integrated training needs assessments and monitors and reports the effectiveness of training.

Major/Essential Functions:

As a training specialist you will play a part in creating an extraordinary place to work where employees know they matter. You will use your expertise to develop departmental and campus-wide training topics such as effective communication skills, time management, delegation, project management, and creating successful teams. You will also facilitate team building activities, develop seminars, and provide online educational sessions using Zoom and Teams. You will be instrumental in in helping individuals develop professionally and contribute to them becoming life-long learners. Finally, you will be instrumental in creating moments that matter through several special employee recognition events. You will do this by:

Assisting with/conducting New Employee Orientation (where you will help employees get off to a great start), leadership series (helping leaders to be successful in establishing and maintaining effective teams), and other professional courses (to include team builders, series trainings, and compliance trainings) to meet university goals. Ensure setup and audiovisual setup are completed for each training/event.

Communicating with employees and departmental leaders to assist with organizational developmental needs. You will encourage and inspire professionals in their continued learning and development, creating a strong workforce to serve students. Develop and maintain campus-wide professional relationships.

Conducting compliance training as necessary. Answer employee and departmental compliance questions.

Effectively communicating updates to compliance curriculum to trainers across campus.

Assisting with events such as Length of Service, Distinguished Staff Awards, Front Line Supervisors Conference, etc.
