The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) team owns Amazon’s global inventory management systems. We decide how much inventory we should have of every product Amazon carries and where it should be placed within our fulfillment network to ensure we delight our customers. Our large-scale automated inventory management systems are built entirely in-house and are pioneering the science and technology of supply chain planning and optimization.

Key job responsibilities

The SCOT Forward Looking Inventory Planning (FLIP) team owns the systems and processes required to provide vendors with the advance signals they need to produce and place the right inventory at the right place at the right time. As a Sr. PM-T, you will be responsible for creating and enhancing inventory management products for both new and existing businesses. You will wear many hats as product manager, business owner, partner and technology evangelist.

Key responsibilities include:

Building and managing high quality product roadmaps

Gaining support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing peers and senior leadership

Creating program goals and related metrics, tracking progress and managing through obstacles to achieve your objectives

Communicating performance, executing and articulating root-cause analysis and linking to specific improvement areas

Executing launches of new features created by SCOT software teams

Partnering with key stakeholders to define product strategy

Promoting data-driven decision making throughout the team

Addressing barriers through problem solving and coordination with stakeholders

Partnering with other teams across Retail and Supply Chain to identify and influence development of new products and services

Acting as an ambassador for SCOT

Sharing best practices with other Amazon teams

You enjoy and excel at driving product development, leading cross-functional collaboration and managing stakeholders’ expectations. You have strong organizational, writing, and influencing skills and gather and use data to guide your decision-making.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics

Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

Experience managing technical products or online services

Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics

Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Experience performing statistical analysis of data using SQL, Excel and other tools

Experience with end to end product delivery

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Strong process engineering abilities

Excellent business judgment

Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results

Strong bias for action and ability to work iteratively

Knowledge of Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
