Growing together.IT Systems Engineering Manager will lead team of highly skilled engineers who oversee systems architecture, design, implementation, and support of BHN enterprise hosting environment. Must be a self-motivated individual while relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must have excellent people skills and the ability to lead and work well with others in a team environment. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of BHN and Optum's policies and procedures.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:As a leader of the infrastructure team, you and your team will be responsible for all facets IT systems, virtualization, and storage infrastructure in multiple hosting environmentsProvide leadership for implementation, operations, audit, reporting, monitoring, backup/recovery, securityCreation and maintaining of documentation (including SOP's)Planning and execution of projects related to hosting/desktop infrastructureManagement and assignment of day-to-day operational efforts, project workloads, and overall prioritizationDevelop a technical debt mitigation and PLM strategy in partnership with architects and engineersPartner with information security, engineering, and operations teams to better understand upcoming IT needsProvide technical leadership and assistance in leveraging OGA resources where possibleHelps establish and maintain BHN's technology roadmap in conjunction with Optum strategyProvide input into the capital and expense budgets, as well as resource planningWork closely with IT leadership both within and outside of primary domainEnsure compliance with policies, procedures, and defined SLA targetsImplements systems level security provisions in conjunction with BHN and Optum's Information security teams

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:5+ years of experience performing architectural or engineering functions on enterprise IT systems5+ years of experience in implementing operational and process improvements in a service organization and setting strategic and tactical service goals with measurable results5+ years of experience in project/program management, ITIL framework, incident and change management tools,5+ years of experience with VMware virtualization, Microsoft Windows Server, and Red Hat Linux, as well as hyper-converged infrastructure5+ years of experience creating and maintain SOP, documentation, and roadmaps3+ years of experience of IT leadership experience managing a team of geographically dispersed engineers, with a proven ability to coach and develop personnel.3+ years of experience in IT operations, delivery, metrics, and SLA managementWilling or ability to travel 10% on site as needed

Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in IT related discipline with an additional of 5+ years of experience, or 10+ years related experienceExperience in enterprise hardware and software lifecycle managementService provider, outsourcing, consulting experienceExperience managing globalized workforceDisaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity experienceEPIC EHR experienceExperience with following technologiesMicrosoft Azure CloudHPE Converged System (Greenlake)HPE Primera/3Par, NetApp, and Qumulo storage and Cisco SAN fabricCommvault and ZertoIDS Systems. Proxy servicesCitrixMonitoring tools such as HPE OneView, SolarWinds, Whatsup Gold, and ServiceNowExperience in SCCM / Tanium, patching, and imaging operations

Knowledge of industry leading practices for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and service availability throughout the system life cycleKnowledge of data center infrastructure (space, environmental, HVAC, etc) design standards and best practices

The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
