Summary You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL COMMAND of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL. Responsibilities You will develop spreadsheets to report current status of training. You will analyze individual and group training and development needs to monitor the effectiveness of programs. You will create course effectiveness evaluations for operational curriculum and courseware. You will advise the command on matters pertaining to training and education programs. You will brief leadership on the progress achieved toward meeting strategic objectives. You will develop action plans to correct training deficiencies discovered during assessments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing course management documents for assigned courses; 2) Analyzing learning objectives and corresponding measurement instruments; 3) Establishing training requirements and determining training needs of instructor and staff personnel; 4) Reviewing instructor evaluations and student feedback for indications of needed training and improvements; and 5) Evaluating courses for applicability, adequacy, technical accuracy, and accomplishment of training objectives. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled OR Completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled OR Completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
