Supply Chain Specialist

Responsibilities
· Collaborates with other departments and Business Area Unit Directors to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
· Establish performance metrics for measuring, comparing, or evaluating factors affecting the supply chain.
· Develops and maintains detailed inventories of material, supplies, and finished goods on-site and in warehouses globally.
· Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase the efficiency of the supply chain and profitability for the company.
· Identifies alternative resources for obtaining raw materials.
· Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent process changes.
· Negotiates raw materials and delivery prices with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies.
· Works with R&D for new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
· Monitors the performance of supplies. Assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements, identifying and qualifying new suppliers in coloration with other departments.
Requires Skills/Abilities
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
· Strong leadership skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft and experience with ERP systems.
Desired Qualifications and Attributes
· Bachelor's in supply chain management or related field.
· Experience working in chemical manufacturing preferred
· Professional Certification - Certified Purchasing Manager (CPIM, CPM, or CSCP) preferred.
· 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management in a global environment preferred.
