Job Summary:
In accordance with the organization's mission, vision and values, the Director of Finance is responsible for oversight of the daily operations & strategic objectives of the agency's accounting functions. This role supervises accountants, accounts payable staff and an administrative assistant and ensures timely, accurate and complete preparation and submission of monthly and annual financial statements, cost reports and budgets and interfaces directly with outside auditors. A critical function is oversight of grant billing and reporting.What We're Looking For:Educational Background:
BA/BS in Finance or Accounting. An MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.Experience:
Proven supervisory experience in an accounting environment is required.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in computerized accounting software applications and excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Analytical Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Communication Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, staff, and service providers at all levels.Interpersonal Skills:
A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with culturally diverse individuals and teams.Leadership Qualities:
Poise, composure, and confidence in high-pressure situations, with a track record of successful team leadership.Onsite Position
: The ability to commute to Newark, NY.
