Overview
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto routing, and prefetching and other related activities. Works with Operations Manager and IS to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system as well as network transmission, RIS validation and exceptions handling. Acts as a liaison indigital imaging initiatives within the department and other departments.Responsibilities
Works closely with Leads and other departments to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image into the PACS system as well as network transmission, RIS validationand exceptions handling.
Investigates, identifies and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems with all clinical operational areas.Responsible for budget preparation and monitoring of the operating budget.Works in cooperation with the Radiology Director to identify present and future needs for equipment installation.Works closely with Director of Radiology and the Director of IS in the development of operating standards, policies & procedures.Reviews feedback from customers and complies and analyzes support data, and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.Works closely with Radiology's Quality Management to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes.Oversees activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.Knowledge of retrieving images from the PACS system and printing to film and/or burning to a CD.Ability to accurately digitize film and enter the appropriate information in PACS.Ability to navigate through a CD and answer any questions referring to such.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum of five years Radiology experience.Understanding of Radiology workflow and the HIS/RIS systems.Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
