The Opportunity:
Join NAVSEA 03S as an SAP Project Manager to lead the design and implementation of the SAP Material Management (MM) module for the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES). This critical role will spearhead the replacement of the existing legacy material management application, contributing to the modernization of Navy ship and submarine maintenance operations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end project management for the implementation of the SAP MM module within the NMMES ecosystem.
Develop and execute a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders across various Navy facilities (NSY, IMF, RMC, SRF, FDRMC) to gather and analyze requirements for the new MM module.
Coordinate with the legacy system team to ensure smooth data migration and system transition.
Manage the SAP implementation team, including internal resources and external consultants.
Oversee the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of the SAP MM module. Ensure integration of the MM module with other NMMES applications and existing SAP modules.
Develop and implement change management and training strategies to facilitate user adoption across 45,000+ users.
Manage project budget and resources, ensuring optimal utilization and adherence to financial constraints.
Report project progress, risks, and issues to NAVSEA 03S leadership and key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with DoD/Navy cybersecurity requirements and SAP best practices throughout the implementation process.
Coordinate with the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team to establish ongoing support processes for the new MM module.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in SAP project management, with at least 5 years focusing on MM module implementations
SAP Project Management certification
Strong understanding of SAP MM module functionality and best practices
Experience managing large-scale IT projects in complex, global environments
Proven track record of successful SAP implementations, preferably in government or defense sectors
Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2)
Strong leadership and team management skills
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desired:
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
Additional SAP module expertise (e.g., FI, CO, PM)
Experience working with DoD/Navy programs or similar complex government IT systems
Knowledge of naval maintenance and modernization processes
Familiarity with legacy system migration and modernization strategies
Understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies and their application in SAP projects
Experience with change management in large organizations
Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and requirements

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$78,100-$171,900
