The Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development is a senior executive responsible for shaping a company's long-term strategy and driving growth through mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other corporate development activities.
What you will be responsible for:
Strategic Planning:
Long-Term Vision: Work with the executive team to define the company's long-term goals and vision.
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and threats.
Strategic Initiatives: Develop and prioritize strategic initiatives that align with the company’s objectives.
Resource Allocation: Ensure that resources are allocated effectively to support strategic priorities.
Financial Analysis & Valuation:
Investment Appraisal: Conduct financial analysis and valuation of potential investment opportunities
Business Case Development: Prepare detailed business cases to support strategic decisions, including ROI and risk analysis.
Innovation & Growth:
New Business Models: Explore and develop new business models, products, and services that align with the company’s strategic goals.
Organic Growth: Identify opportunities for organic growth, including market expansion, product development, and customer acquisition strategies.
Corporate Development:
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Identify, evaluate, and negotiate potential M&A opportunities to enhance the company's growth and market position.
Partnerships & Alliances: Forge strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that can drive business growth.
Due Diligence: Oversee the due diligence process for potential acquisitions or investments, ensuring that risks and opportunities are fully understood.
Integration Planning: Develop and execute integration plans to ensure a smooth transition and realization of synergies.
Stakeholder Management:
Board Presentations: Prepare and present strategic plans, proposals, and updates to the Board of Directors.
Investor Relations: Work closely with investor relations to communicate the company’s strategy and growth plans to shareholders and analysts.
Leadership & Team Management:
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of professionals in strategy and corporate development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as finance, operations, and marketing to ensure alignment and execution of strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Bachelor in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA a plus
Ten plus years of experience across relevant industries: corporate development, investment banking, consulting, private equity or other financial advisory services; Aviation and Defense experience preferred, but not required
