We are currently seeking an Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. This full-time role will primarily work remotely (Days).
Purpose of this position: Under minimal supervision, the Staff Accountant is primarily concerned with the accounting functions for the health care system.

// _RESPONSIBILITIES:_
Prepares, reconciles, and analyzes routine and complex financial statements and reportsPrepares journal entries, difficult and complex accounting entries, transactions and reconciliationsUnder minimal supervision, the Staff Accountant is primarily concerned with the accounting functions for the health care systemConducts less complex surveys, analyses and system and procedural studies, and recommends changes in procedures and methodsPrepares written documentation of work activities, such as routine work papers and audit reports, and proceduresParticipates in the installation of new systems and proceduresMay prepare analysis of various ledger accountsMay review expenditures and accounting procedures of contractual vendors and compare vendor budgets with purchase of service contracts for compliance to contract stipulationsAssists higher level auditors/accountants in the examination and analysis of accounting methods and proceduresMay provide assistance, work direction, training or supervision to employees engaged in paraprofessional or clerical accounting activitiesMay perform special projects and provide assistance to other Units, Departments, etc. on audit or accounting related mattersPrepares journal entries to be posted to general ledgerPrepares reconciliation of assigned trial balance accountsAnalyzes financial statements and detailed expense reports, explains variances to trend, and prepares month–end narrativesAssists Senior Accountant in the preparation of monthly financial statements and other financial reportsAssists in the preparation of the annual year–end auditAssists in compiling, formulating and reviewing fiscal budgetsAll work is self–reviewed for reasonableness and with a complete understanding before being presented as evidenced by analysis and ability to explain your workMaintains record retention and filing systemOther duties as assigned
_Grant Accounting Functions_
Prepares, reconciles and analyzes routine and complex financial activities for grantsReviews and administers financial terms and conditions of grants including funder agency reporting, time and effort requirements, budgets, billing, and grant closing proceduresAssists higher-level auditors/accountants in the examination and analysis of grant accounting methods and proceduresAssists in the preparation of the grant financial reconciliations and any grant auditsAssists in compiling, formulating and reviewing grant budgets
_QUALIFICATIONS:_
/Minimum Qualifications:/
Graduation from an accredited college with a major in accounting, business administration with emphasis in accounting, or other specialty area related to the duties of the position

An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferredOne to three (1-3) years of general ledger experience in an automated environment preferred
