Job Description:
The Director of Advanced Concept Engineer (ACE) for Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) will lead the technical engineering organization providing business development execution and technology strategy in collaboration with leaders across the $6.5B SAS portfolio. This role will lead and manage the engineering team focused on the capture of disruptive and innovative mission solutions, architecting technical solutions to our customer’s challenging mission problems. This role will leverage corporate-wide resources to provide customers with innovative, novel, and comprehensive mission and system level solutions including mission modeling and simulation.
Essential Functions:
Manage mission solutions group, shaping customer mission architectures to maximize L3Harris profitable scope
Manage advanced concept engineering department, providing technical leadership, executing competitive capture
Partner with the Mission Analysis Group to jointly develop roadmaps that enhance organic capabilities, supporting both capture and lifecycle engineering while increasing customer confidence in next-gen technology solutions through modeling and simulation
Functional management of over 100 technical business development engineers to:
Architect and lead strategic cross-domain solutions to solve our customers’ most challenging problems and create new franchises for the business.
Provide support for capture strategies, capture management and proposal development
Cultivate strong relationships and collaborate closely with Business Development and Strategy leadership, Engineering leadership, and Sector leadership to align investments with growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
10+ years of relevant experience creating and implementing system architectures and complex mission solutions
Experience executing DoD/government programs
Experience with technical business development skills
Capture and functional management experience
Experience engineering functional and physical architectures
US Government Top Secret Clearance with a SSBI and counterintelligence polygraph.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Masters or Doctoral degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (MSEE or MSCE).
Ability to protectively work autonomously and with others to resolve functional and technical issues
Proven and effective verbal and written communications skills, interpersonal skills and customer focus
Experience collaborating in a team environment
Experience working with C-suite executives and leadership
Strong business acumen
Demonstrated entrepreneurial success
Demonstrated agile quick reaction technical team leadership experience
Experience analyzing, developing, and integrating electronic systems in areas such as remote sensing, aerospace payloads, mission computing, communications, networking, robotics, and cyber / electronic warfare
Experience working with and for Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC) — both domestic and international
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $146,500 - $271,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
